Unique printer doubles cheque printing speed and delivers ultra-fast receipts

Hemel Hempstead, 9 November 2005. Epson has announced the availability of the H6000III, a multi-function point of sale printer which combines fast, 2-colour receipt printing with single-insertion cheque printing, validation and endorsement. Featuring an increased user memory to store for example, sophisticated logos, promotional messages and emulation software, the thermal H6000III boasts 63 lines (200mm) per second print speed and high-quality graphic capability to deliver instant, customised receipts.

In addition, the H6000III's unique cheque handling mechanism doubles cheque printing speeds compared to conventional mechanisms. Featuring two print heads instead of one, the H6000III prints on both sides of a cheque within a single insertion, therefore eliminating paper jams and enabling retailers to print cheques in as little as 12 seconds. The H6000III can even accept crumpled cheques.

Compact and elegant, the H6000III is designed to occupy minimal counter space. A highly durable chassis protects against mechanical wear and tear, and the H6000III's low energy consumption adds to its reliability. Maintenance counters automatically record usage in terms of power-on hours, number of characters printed and number of paper cuts to enable retailers to plan preventative maintenance programmes.

The H6000III includes features such as, drop-in paper load, flexible papers width options, selectable auto-cutter and easy-access operator covers. With support for OPoS and JPoS, the H6000III offers a wide range of interface options including wireless (IEEE 802.11b), serial, parallel, USB, Ethernet and Power Plus USB.
