Epson’s IR-700 represents the next generation of integrated EPoS systems with its stylish-contemporary design, unique maintenance tools and a wide range of connectivity options.
Hemel Hempstead, 3 May 2005. Utilising its proven touchscreen technology, Epson today launched the IR-700; the latest addition to its Intelligent Register (IR) series. Powered by the latest Intel M processor, the IR-700 is the smallest in its class and includes advanced features to provide a high-performance, easy-to-use, all-in-one system for maximised efficiency at the point of service in all retail and hospitality environments.
The IR-700 has been designed to allow horizontal or vertical positioning enabling it to be configured to meet specific user requirements. Its compact and contemporary design complements any environment and makes the most of the available counter space. A single plug system, the IR-700 ensures fast and simple installation and a clutter-free point of service and features an in-built smart cable management system which further saves space, and minimises the risk of accidental disconnection.
Ergonomically designed for user comfort, the IR-700 includes sophisticated functionality to ensure continuity of business. Unique maintenance tools enable the IR to be maintained remotely via the internet, ISDN or LAN maximising system uptime and helping to reduce service costs. Furthermore, onboard diagnostic software monitors and identifies any potential hardware failures whilst RAID 1 functionality adds extra back-up support to the PoS operation.
Central to the IR's appeal is its intuitive touchscreen interface which is easy for even inexperienced users to operate. High-durability, scratch and water resistant, the LCD screen is available in large 12.1" or 15" sizes. When used in conjunction with the latest EPoS software, the touchscreen guides the operator through transactions using clear, colour menus resulting in faster transactions and improved customer service. In addition, the IR-700 includes an integrated fast, thermal TM-T88III receipt printer further minimising customer waiting time.
Chip & PIN compatible, the IR-700 has other optional features including easy-to-read customer display, Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR), and, if required, a fully-programmable PoS keyboard is also available. A highly flexible system, the IR-700 uses the latest technology interface protocols, such as Ethernet, wireless LAN 802.llb, standard USB and powered USB to maximise the retailer's options at the point of service.
The IR-700 will be demonstrated on Epson's stand (H24) at Retail Solutions 2005, 7-9th June at the NEC, Birmingham.
