Epson's Intelligent Register selected to drive new EPoS system

Morada International Ltd, the fabric and textile specialist,
has implemented a new EPoS system to meet ambitious growth plans
for the retail side of its business. With an expansion strategy
designed to increase its six home furnishing branches to 30,
Morada has invested in an integrated accounting and retail solution
utilising Epson’s advanced Intelligent Register (IR),
in order to handle the increased volume of transactions expected
as new stores open, and to provide head-office reporting.
Stuart Taylor, chief executive of Morada commented: “While
we had an existing mainframe system for managing the entire
business, we needed an integrated solution that could be implemented
easily and run as a separate entity within the new retail
side of the business. The ability to generate reports and
have up-to-the-minute, accurate financial information was
also essential.”
The solution, developed by consultants HBP Systems, combines
Exchequer Enterprise for Head Office stock control and financial
accounting, with Paypoint software at the point of sale. The
EPoS software from Daventry-based APS, runs on Epson’s
IR with its built-in touchscreen display, thermal printer
and Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR).
Featuring easy-to-use touchscreen menu options, Epson’s
IR allows transactions to be processed quickly and efficiently
at the PoS, ensuring customer waiting times are kept to a
minimum. In addition, development carried out by HBP Systems
enables orders – including special one-offs - to be
processed at the PoS, and then posted into Exchequer automatically.
By using back-to-back ordering, only one purchase order per
supplier needs to be raised, vastly reducing the management
time and cost involved.
