Epson hardware is chosen for its functionality, performance and reliability

Hemel Hempstead, 17 August 2005. Dixons Group, Europe's leading electronics retailer, has added three models from Epson's comprehensive point of sale printer range to its state-of-the-art EPoS solution eclipse. Developed in-house and tailored to the specific needs of the business, eclipse provides a complete end-to-end system which manages all operational aspects from sales and stock to customer orders. Chosen for their functionality, performance and reliability, the Epson PoS printers complete Dixons Group's EPoS solution and are being rolled out to 1,200 stores to further enhance customer service and speed at the point of sale.
Operating in 13 countries with major retail brands such as Dixons, The Link, PC World and Currys, Dixons Group required a range of printers to suit its in-store and back-office needs. Carl Rayner, in-store installations manager at Dixons Group explained: "Fast and quiet receipt printing was essential, as was cheque printing and endorsement functionality. In addition, with limited space in store it was vital that the printers we chose would fit into the available space and complement the store environment."

Dixon's Group selected Epson's TM-H6000 - an advanced combined cheque and receipt printer; TM-T90 - a 2 colour thermal receipt printer and the fast TM-L90 label printer. The roll-out commenced in June 2003 beginning with The Link stores, continuing in 2004 to Currys, PC World and Dixons, and completing this year at Dixons Tax Free and Southern Ireland stores.

"Epson's printers have enabled us to work in different ways and improve processes, for example, printing return labels for product identification," said Rayner. "The feedback from stores has been excellent. The printers are very easy-to-use and replenish without interruption to customer service. They have met all our requirements in terms of functionality and performance - using Epson hardware has ultimately meant we can give our customers an improved in-store experience."
