Already one of the most elegant solutions available, Epson expects the black IR to appeal particularly to fashion stores, department stores and speciality stores.

The terminal's compact, space-saving design and built-in cable management make it ideally suited for today's point of sale counters where it is particularly important for retailers to maximise the space available for eye-catching displays and promotions.

The black IR-320 features a 12.1" TFT SVGA LCD with touch panel, which has a wide viewing angle for easy operation. In addition, the touchscreen interface supports better software design, such as drop-down colour menus, to help minimise inputting errors.

The IR is powered by a high-performance 1.2 GHz Intel processor and offers retailers 40GB Hard Disk Drive and memory of up to 512MB. A highly flexible solution, it uses the latest technology interface protocols, such as Ethernet and USB, and supports the next generation of point of sale applications, including Chip and PIN.

Equipped with a built-in sound capability, the IR is available with a range of peripheral options, including an Epson customer display, a three track Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR), Chip and PIN customer terminal and a range of fast PoS printers.
