Ramada Plaza Wrexham selects Epson and Brilliant Hotel Software for enhanced service


Touchscreen technology and kitchen printers from Epson streamline service for four-star hotel

Hemel Hempstead, 12 February 2007. The Ramada Plaza Wrexham has implemented a solution featuring Epson’s fully-integrated IR-700, TM-U230 kitchen printer and POS+ from leisure and hospitality specialists Brilliant Hotel Software, to streamline its operation. Selected for its advanced performance, speed and reliability, the Epson/Brilliant solution provides the four-star hotel with an automated ordering system and enables it to offer first class service.

The Ramada Plaza Wrexham is the first new build project undertaken by franchisee QN Hotels, which also operates three Holiday Inns in the UK. The Company required a dependable, proven hospitality solution to ensure the smooth running of its newest development. “Reliability was our primary concern,” commented Nabeel Ahmed, Hotel Director. “We wanted an EPoS system which could handle the hospitality requirements of the hotel whilst providing a user-friendly interface for the staff.”

Designed to provide maximum performance in demanding environments, Epson’s fully integrated IR-700 – with built-in receipt printer and intuitive LCD touchscreen – is quick and easy-to-use, even for the most inexperienced of users. An Epson IR-700 is situated in the Hotel’s two bars, the restaurant’s maitre D desk and its executive lounge. These are linked to Epson’s robust and resilient TM-U230 kitchen printer to form an automated ordering system. In addition, Brilliant POS+ directly interfaces with the Hotel’s property management system, Brilliant PM PRO, to seamlessly transfer guest information which, for example, helps to reduce charging errors at the time of checkout.

Featuring 85 deluxe air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms and substantial conference and banqueting facilities, Ramada Plaza Wrexham offers state-of-the-art facilities including high-speed internet access, large LCD screens in bedrooms, on-demand pay-TV system, a mini gym, spa-pool and sauna.

Opened by HRH Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, the hotel has been a resounding success, as has the Brilliant and Epson solution. “We’ve been impressed by the system’s high performance – it’s definitely met our expectations,” concluded Nabeel.
