Spanning five sites across the UK in London, Manchester and Cambridgeshire, the Imperial War Museum seeks to encourage the understanding of the history of modern war. With an incomparable collection covering all aspects of twentieth and twenty-first century conflict involving Britain and the Commonwealth, the Museum's branches are premier attractions, committed to offering the best visitor experience possible.
To help prepare for an invasion of visitors this year sparked by the 60th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, the Museum invested in a high-tech EPoS system featuring Epson's fast, thermal receipt printers to ensure smooth running during this busy time. Installed at all five Imperial War Museum sites, as well as at its distribution and mail-order centres, the sophisticated solution from specialist Cybertill was chosen for its efficiency, reliability and functionality.
"We required an EPoS system that would support our specific needs such as managing the complex range of merchandise sold through our shops. For example, with some 6,500 lines including 4,500 books, it's vital that stock is available at all five branches," explained Lorraine Moor, the Imperial War Museum's Head of Retail. "Equally important was that the system would deliver efficient levels of customer service at all times. "Delivered remotely using internet protocols, the advanced Cybertill EPoS software enables the Imperial War Museum to manage all aspects of the business, anywhere and at anytime with instant access to vital data such as sales, cash flow and inventory information. Coupled with reliable and easy-to-use Epson TM-T88III printers at each point of sale, the Museum now has the total EPoS solution it demands.
"We are delighted with the whole solution - V.E Day was obviously a very hectic day for the Museum and I'm glad to say it stood the test very well," concluded Lorraine. "The Cybertill software is so flexible and convenient to use and the Epson receipt printers
further enhance the speed and efficiency of each sales transaction which really is vital for busy attractions such as ours."
