Arciris has installed Epson Intelligent Registers (IRs) running Iridium point of sale at the first c-store joint venture between Budgens and an independent retailer. Rebecca and Jonathan James have already installed Iridium at two of their petrol forecourts, so it was the natural choice for their 7,500sq ft supermarket in Soham, Cambridgeshire, which formally opened in September 2003.

Arnotts
, Dublin's leading department store, has decided that the Epson IR is the ideal hardware platform for its new point of sale system.

The Aviator Hotel
in Northamptonshire, has installed nine SR-600 touchscreen terminals, running software from hospitality specialists, Avon Data Systems. The distinctive art deco hotel is located in the original terminal building and RAF Officers' Mess on the outskirts of Sywell Aerodrome.

Fast expanding sandwich bar franchise, O'Briens has installed Epson SR-600 terminals in its two new Danish restaurants ­ in Copenhagen and Aarhus. In 2002, the Update reported how the chain had successfully piloted the system, running Posera's Maitre D' software.

Good Days News
, a chain of convenience store shops based in Somerset, has installed nine IR terminals, running ShopMate software from Lincolnshire-based, Retail Data Partnership.
