We were inundated with entries to our TM-C100 competition in the last issue of Retail Update. Here are just a few of your ideas of how to use Epson's new 4-colour SEAJet point of sale printer:-
"My idea for an original use for the TM-C100 is to use it at a doctor's surgery or outpatients unit. Appointment cards could be printed for patients and these could also include information about special clinics, opening times for the surgery or emergency numbers. Useful web addresses or help-lines could be included too"
"The TM-C100 could be used to print membership cards for a club, which can include a colour picture of the member to avoid mis-use"
"Used together with interior design packages, the TM-C100 could print out various design option thumbnails along with price information"
And the winner is Paul Grzelak
Paul, a Corporate Auditor for Woolworths, came up with so many great ideas including:-
Mini-maps - stuck in a strange town, looking for a particular place? Service stations could use the TM-C100 to print simple map/directions from the garage (using software/internet facility to supporting computer). This idea could be extended to any kind of business that needs to give clear directions to another one its branches, for example.
Book shop receipts - stores could improve sales and raise awareness of new or
interesting books by printing extracts or a synopsis of selected books on a customer receipts. Could also be used in promotions, eg customer buys a book from author X and is entitled to a discount on another book by the same author.
Railway tickets - the TM-C100 could be used to produce a personalised receipt which
summarises your journey including the trains that you need, where to change, times and even a map of your route.
