| Multi-channel retailing has become the norm rather than the exception. With retailers taking advantage of alternative ways to market, such as eCommerce and mail order, EPoS technology plays a major role in bringing together the various elements of a retail business.
With a reputation for the eclectic and unusual, Graham & Green has been selling home and lifestyle products for over 30 years. Founded in 1974, the Company boasts four outlets across London - including stores located on London's prestigious Kings Road and Regents Park - all served from a warehouse in West Kensington.
Following the success of its stores, Graham & Green added an online shopping and a mail order service. It was this growth and expansion, which led the company to realise a need for an EPoS system with the ability to provide instant stock and sales information, and that could also improve customer service.
In order to achieve its goals, Graham & Green invested in a sophisticated retail solution from Merseyside-based company, Cybertill. The solution combines both EPoS and eCommerce technology, enabling the
company to integrate the system into its website and warehouse. To this end, the system provides valuable information in order to perform stock replenishments and inter-branch transfers, and, according to Marissa Vanderzee, Business Manager for Graham & Green, it "provides easy-to-understand information in real-time, enabling us to track stock for the first time."
In-store, transactions are processed quickly and accurately, thanks to the system's barcode recognition software, plus, as it's based on a remote server, new stock lines can be uploaded instantly, without any disruption to the multi-channel service. In addition, to further enhance customer service, Epson's TM-T88III receipt printers were the natural choice.
"The TM-T88III's have performed brilliantly - 18 months on they have given us no cause for concern whatsoever," observed Marissa Vanderzee. "They are fast and reliable and what's more the neat and compact design fits in very well with our store environment."
