Based in the heart of the Cotswolds, Warners Retail employs 170 people and serves over 50,000 customers a week from its five retail outlets.

When Warners Retail decided to purchase the Moreton-in-Marsh site from Budgens in May 2007, a £1 million complete store refit was required for the new retail outlet. The plan involved creating spacious, modern interiors and installing an efficient and contemporary point of sale system to complement the new look 10,000 sq.ft. Budgens branded retail outlet.

Guy Warner, Managing Director of Warners Retail wanted a system that was not only advanced but also user-friendly in order to reduce staff training time. It was also essential that the new system integrated with Sage and employed broadband technology. Having used Epson’s PoS systems for over ten years, Guy was impressed with the competence and efficiency of Epson systems. Based on his previous experience, Guy felt that the modular Epson MR-800 was the best choice for the Budgens branded store in Moreton-in-Marsh.

To meet Warners Retail’s technology requirements, Indigo Retail supplied a nine-lane EPoS solution with fully integrated back and head-office software. Comprising Epson MR-800 EPoS hardware with Avery FX120 scales, the system uses broadband technology and seamlessly links to Sage. “The integration with Sage enables me to consolidate sales and cost information from all three sites at one location. From this data I can make truly informed decisions on purchasing, promotions and merchandising,” said Guy.

Offering complete versatility and multiple connectivity options, the modular MR-800 features a slim touch screen monitor with a high visibility LCD display and built in Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR), making the sophisticated system ideal for Warner Retail’s latest outlet.
