Nestled in the heart of the idyllic Essex countryside, The Cock Inn’s dramatic transformation from a simple country pub into a vibrant Italian inspired gastro-pub has been documented in the popular Channel 4 TV Series, Jamie’s Chef. And the man behind the makeover of this over 400 year old country pub is Aaron Craze.
Aaron is a graduate from Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, Fifteen London, one of the four restaurants run by the Fifteen Foundation. A charity aimed at realising Jamie Oliver’s vision of offering young people the unique opportunity to change their lives by becoming chefs, the Fifteen Foundation provides an apprenticeship-based program in its ‘Fifteen’ restaurants located in London, Cornwall, Amsterdam and Melbourne.
When the successful apprentice took over The Cock Inn, he needed a hospitality system to ensure the smooth running of his latest undertaking. To fulfil the need for a resilient and efficient point of sale solution, Sharon Wright, Project Manager of the Fifteen Foundation turned to Ian Jones at Mission Integrated Systems.
As part of the solution, Mission X Series software supplied by Mission Integrated Systems and Epson’s TM-U230 and TM-T88IV receipt printers have been installed at The Cock Inn. Epson’s durable TM-U230 impact printer is the perfect addition to the gastro-pub’s kitchen because it is unaffected by steam, grease or spillages and boasts a water-resistant case with a coated, anti-bacterial surface which allows stains and grime to be wiped away effortlessly. The easy-to-use, Epson TM-T88IV thermal printer offers the combination of speed and efficiency and plays a crucial part in the front-of-house operations by minimising transaction time.
Delighted with the solution, Sharon said, “The support we have received from Mission has been fantastic! The system is so easy to use and has excellent reporting capabilities, which makes the difficult job of managing your bottom line that much less painful. The Epson printers exceeded all our requirements and expectations – they are fast and user-friendly, enabling the staff to do what they do best - provide excellent customer service.”
