The Lincolnshire Co-operative Society’s pharmacy division offers an extensive range of healthcare services. In addition to dispensing prescriptions and offering over-the-counter advice and medicines, the pharmacy’s services include smoking cessation clinics, in-store pregnancy testing and supplying aids for the disabled.

As part of a major development programme, the pharmacy division has revamped its EPoS system. “Our aim was to replace key business systems in an effort to rationalise the number of systems in use, and also to provide effective unit stock control, integration with our Dividend Card and better business information,” explained Andrew Turner, IS Controller at The Lincolnshire Co-operative Society. “It was vital that the system could meet the needs and specific key business functions of a multiple store chain such as ours. Ease of support and ease of use were also major deciding factors,” added Andrew.

Following a thorough review of the market-place, the Lincolnshire Co-operative Society selected In-Tech’s comprehensive CHOISE System with integrated EPoS, stock management, Dividend Card management and reporting. Combined with Epson’s fast and robust TM-T88IV thermal receipt printers and Metrologic bar code scanners, the comprehensive solution meets all requirements of the Lincolnshire Co-operative Society’s pharmacy business.

Now rolled out across all the Lincolnshire Co-operative Society’s pharmacy stores, the new solution features touch screen systems powered by Windows-based software and includes the user-friendly Epson TM-T88IV printers which have increased efficiency by delivering ultra-fast receipts at the point of sale. “Our new system is working splendidly. The EPoS is now fully integrated, it is performing very well and we are extremely happy,” said Andrew. “The printers are reliable, fast and quiet. Reliability is so important to our business, the Epson printers are ideal.”
